Suzaki – Distillery Ryuka New Born 2026 (70cl, 58%)

Ryuka New Born 2026 is a single malt from Shinzato Shuzo, the oldest distillery in Okinawa, Japan. It was distilled in November 2024 and bottled in May 2026 after 18 months of maturation, as a limited edition at a cask strength of 58% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry, bourbon and Spanish virgin oak casks. Okinawa's humid, subtropical climate speeds up maturation, with an annual angel's share of around 10%. The nose brings native Nikkei bark, grass and green apple. The palate is oily, with zesty orange peel and woody sweetness, and the finish carries a cool oriental spice.
