Symbiosis Batch 2 opens the 15th edition of the Artist series, titled Something in the Water and devoted to Islay whiskies. This blended malt combines Bunnahabhain distilled in 2013 and 2014 with Caol Ila distilled in 2014, 2015 and 2018. After blending it spent a year in a puncheon, then six months in toasted new American oak casks. It is bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour, in an edition of 303 bottles. The label carries artwork by Radhika Surana, and the blend previews the style intended for Elixir Distillers' future Portintruan single malt. The nose brings malted barley, hay, oily peat, sea air and bacon. The palate moves from earth, chocolate and salt to smoke, iodine, malt, orange and apricot. The finish is long, with toffee, roasted nuts, peat and smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
