Talisker 18 Year Old is an Island single malt from the distillery at Carbost, on the shores of Loch Harport. It is Skye's only distillery, and the whisky is bottled at above average strength. The soft, peaty process water comes from 21 underground springs that rise from Hawk Hill beside the distillery. On the palate it is thick, rich and full-bodied, with spicy, peppery oak, espresso beans and wood smoke. A little allspice appears alongside a zesty note, and the spice builds steadily.
