Talisker Storm is a single malt from Talisker, the oldest working distillery on Skye, founded in 1830 by the brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill. The distillery's stills are replicas of the originals, with U-shaped lye pipes, and the spirit is cooled in traditional worm tubs. The palate starts sweet and syrupy, followed by ferns and bitter woody bark. Alongside come white pepper, rock pool brine, a touch of sweet fruit and some waxiness, with woody beach-bonfire smoke and pungent peat behind.
