Talisker Dark Storm is a single malt from the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% in a one litre bottle. It began as a travel retail release.
The whisky is matured in heavily charred ex-bourbon casks, which add extra smokiness.
The nose is firm, with pepper, sea breeze, medicinal smoke and minerality, followed by fruit, caramel and honey. On the palate come peat smoke, wood, smoked fish, barley, honey, minerality and sea salt. The finish is of medium length, with smoke, pepper and apple.
