Talisker – Dark Storm

Talisker Dark Storm is a single malt from the island of Skye, matured in heavily charred oak casks. The charring gives it a smokier, deeper and spicier profile. The colour is deep amber with copper highlights. The nose has sea air, wet rope, peat smoke and black pepper, with burnt wood, charred orange peel, leather and vanilla. On the palate, black pepper and spice come first, then peat smoke and toasted oak, with dark toffee, orange peel, seaweed and smoked plums. The finish is long, warming and smoky, with charcoal, spice and a drying bitterness.
