Tamdhu – Cask Strength Batch 007 (70cl, 57.5%)

Tamdhu Cask Strength Batch 007 is a single malt from Speyside, bottled at 57.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. For this batch Tamdhu used only casks that previously held Oloroso sherry, with a high share of first-fill casks. The whisky matured in them throughout, and they gave it a natural copper tone and a fruity, spicy character. The nose opens with light vanilla sponge, then spicy cinnamon and roasted praline. The palate is dense and full, with raspberries and sweet meringue; water brings out caramelised apricot, oak spice and fresh lemon. The finish is long, starting with warm oak, then baked figs, clear sherry notes and freshly peeled clementine.
