Distinction is a limited release from Tamdhu, bottled at 48% ABV. It celebrates maturation in first-fill sherry casks made from American oak.
The oak begins in the forests of North America (Quercus alba) and is shipped to Spain, where the casks are made over six years in the Sherry Triangle. The staves are air-dried in the Mediterranean sun, then assembled and toasted by experienced coopers. The casks are seasoned with Oloroso sherry before they travel to Tamdhu to be filled.
