Tamdhu – Quercus Alba Distinction (70cl, 48%)

Distinction is a limited Speyside single malt from Tamdhu and the first bottling in its Quercus Alba series. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky celebrates first fill American oak sherry casks. The oak staves are dried in the Mediterranean sun before being made into casks, which are then toasted and seasoned with Oloroso sherry before they travel to Scotland. The nose offers cinnamon and vanilla with fresh lemon and cherry. The palate is rich and round, with plums, dates, chocolate and a light touch of oak. The finish is fruity, with a generous note of syrup sponge.
