This is a 30 Year Old Tawny Port from Taylor Fladgate, bottled at 20% in a 75cl bottle. It is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinta Cão.
The port is aged in small 600-litre oak pipas in the firm's Vila Nova de Gaia lodges. Only every two to three years does a reserve port have the power, structure and fruit concentration to be chosen for this long ageing.
The nose shows butterscotch, toffee and roasted hazelnut with rose petal and quince. The palate is rich and honeyed, with date, persimmon, dried cherry and salted nuts, kept lively by balancing acidity. The finish is long and spicy, with citrus rind and toffee.
