Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port 2018 is a declared vintage port from the Douro Valley in Portugal.
The fruit comes from three estate vineyards: Quinta de Vargellas, and Quintas Terra Feita and Junco. The blend uses Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca. The grapes were trodden by foot in granite lagares, and the wine was aged for two years in large French oak vats before bottling.
The nose is dense with blackberry and blackcurrant, with violet, rose petal, mocha and wild mint. The palate is concentrated, with blueberry, plum, ganache, cassis, anise and white pepper, and ripe tannins. The finish is very long, with dark cherry, mocha and spice.
