This is the fourth edition of Teeling's Rising Reserve series, a 21 year old Irish single malt. It spent 18 years in bourbon casks, followed by three years in French white wine casks.
The second period of maturation shapes the profile, adding candied lemon, tropical fruit, biscuit dough and white chocolate. It is bottled at 46% ABV in an outturn of 6,000 bottles, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose offers candied lemon, vanilla, biscuit dough and toffee with a touch of roasted barley. Bright tropical fruit and citrus meet white chocolate and soft tannins on the palate. The finish is long and soft, with orchard fruit and honey.
