Teeling Vintage Reserve 24 Years Old is an Irish single malt, distilled in the early 1990s and matured for more than two decades in ex-bourbon casks together with Sauternes sweet wine casks. It was bottled in August 2016 at 46% ABV, without chill filtration.
The nose is full of ripe tropical fruit, such as mango, pineapple and papaya, with citrus, peach, apricot and honey. On the palate it is full, silky and creamy, with white grape, vanilla and a little gentle pepper. The Sauternes casks add a wine-like note without weighing the whisky down. The finish is long, with lingering fruit sweetness and a light dryness.
