Teeling Vintage Reserve 28 Years Old is an Irish single malt matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in Sauternes. It was bottled in March 2020 at 46% ABV, in an edition of 4,000 bottles.
It won its category at the World Whiskey Awards 2021 as Best Single Malt aged 21 years and over, and was named World's Best Irish Single Malt at the Icons of Whisky 2021.
The nose has tropical fruit, toasted buns, cinnamon and smoky peat. The palate is well balanced, with wine gums, toasted almonds and a hint of guava over a savoury base of vanilla and oak. The finish is long and soft.
