This is a 30 year old Irish single malt from Teeling, distilled in 1987 under Master Distiller Alex Chasko. It was bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl decanter-style bottle, and only 500 bottles were filled.
The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then given a further period in ex-white Burgundy (Chardonnay) casks.
The nose has mineral notes, exotic fruit, mango, pineapple, caramel and cinnamon spice. On the palate come sweetness, mango, pineapple, banana, vanilla and a grassy, spicy edge. The finish is long, spicy and fruity, with a touch of smoke.
