Teeling Wonders of Wood Swedish Oak is an Irish single pot still whiskey, triple distilled in Dublin and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The mash is half malted and half unmalted barley, and the whiskey is matured fully, not merely finished, in virgin Swedish oak casks.
It belongs to the Wonders of Wood series, which looks at how unusual casks change the flavour of Irish whiskey. It was named World's Best Irish Single Pot Still at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose is floral, with citrus fruit, a little potpourri and caramel. On the palate come candied ginger, almond, treacle and cinnamon, and the finish is dry, with black pepper and nutmeg.
