A 12 year old Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. DoubleWood is matured in two types of oak: first in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then transferred to European oak sherry casks.
The Balvenie was founded in 1892 and stands in Dufftown.
The nose has gentle sweetness, honey, dried fruits and vanilla with a touch of toasted oak. The palate is smooth and rounded, with honey, creamy toffee, cinnamon spice and mellow oak. The finish is long, sweet and lightly spiced, with lingering vanilla and nutty warmth.
