The Balvenie DoubleWood is a 12 year old Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle. It spends its first ten years in bourbon casks, which give a soft flavour, and is then moved into sherry casks that add depth.
The distillery has stayed in the hands of the Grant family since 1892. It has its own malting floor and uses barley from the family farm.
Balvenie is typically described as round, charming and sweet, with a honeyed character and a distinct note of orange.
