The Balvenie Doublewood is a 12-year-old single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It has a neutral amber colour and has matured in sherry casks.
The nose shows pronounced sherry and citrus, mainly orange and peach. A few drops of water bring out heather, vanilla, freshly cut grass and honey. The palate offers autumnal flavours of nuts, honey, chestnuts, biscuits and heather, with soft vanilla and cinnamon from the sherry cask.
The finish is fairly long, balanced and warm, with wood, vanilla, honey and nuts.
