This is a 12 year old single malt from The Balvenie, part of the Balvenie Stories range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
Rather than the usual ex-bourbon cask, it was matured in virgin American oak from Kentucky, which was heavily toasted at the distillery.
The nose is mostly wood, vanilla and sweetness. On the palate sweetness, wood and spice sit in good balance.
