The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Rum Cask - Limited Edition Victo Ngai (70cl, 43%)

This is The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14, a Speyside single malt in a limited edition with artwork by the illustrator Victo Ngai on its tube. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matures for 14 years in traditional whisky casks, then moves to American oak casks that previously held a blend of West Indian rums for a final maturation. It keeps its 14 year age statement despite the finish. Creamy toffee, vanilla, honey and fresh fruit lead the notes, with mango, passion fruit, brown sugar and crème brûlée adding a tropical, dessert-like side. The palate is round, with vanilla and sweet oak, and the finish is soft, long, sweet and fruity.
