The Balvenie 15 Year Old Madeira Cask is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43%, with no added colour. It was introduced for travel retail in 2022 as part of the Cask Finishes range, blended by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE.
The whisky matured first in American oak casks, then in casks that had held Madeira. The honey and vanilla of the first maturation are joined by dark berries, ginger, peach, orange and hazelnut.
The nose brings blackcurrant and blackberry over ginger syrup, with raisins, figs and dates. The palate is ripe peach and orange with hazelnut and clear oak. The finish is long, warm and sweet, with red apple and spice.
