This is The Balvenie 15 Years Old Madeira Cask, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is matured for fifteen years and takes its name from the Madeira cask used for the whisky.
The nose is rich with blackcurrants and brambles, which slowly layer over ginger syrup and delicate spices. On the palate, ripe fresh peaches lead to a touch of citrus orange, hazelnuts and crisp oak.
The finish is long.
