The whisky spent 11 years in bourbon casks, then a further 7 years in casks that held Pineau des Charentes, the French fortified wine.
The nose has toasted oak, delicate spice, soft caramel and ripe berries. The palate is rich and sweet, with subtle spice, creamy vanilla and honey, and woody tannins. The finish is long, with sweetness, peppery spice and well-integrated oak.
