The Balvenie 25 Year Old DoubleWood is a Speyside single malt made as a limited edition in 2018 to mark 25 years of the DoubleWood expression, in a 70cl bottle.
Malt master David Stewart was a pioneer of double maturation, experimenting with it from 1982 before the first DoubleWood launched in 1993. Here the whisky spent time in traditional American casks, then in ex-sherry casks. It is described as having notes of honey, ginger, dried fruit and candied orange.
