This is a 40 year old single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at a cask strength of 46% in a 70cl bottle. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE created it as a marriage of some of the rarest casks in the Balvenie warehouses.
Those casks held traditional American and European oak, and the blend is described as bold and of extraordinary character.
In the glass it is rich and refined, with intense honeyed oak and rich fruit giving layers of sweetness and spice. Warm notes of ginger and citrus then come through.
