A 16 year old Speyside single malt from Balvenie, bottled at 47.6% in a 70cl bottle.
After sixteen years in American oak, the whisky is moved into French oak casks that previously held Pineau des Charentes, a blend of grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie.
The nose offers lemon zest, wildflowers, poached pear and apricot jam. The palate is rich, with dark caramel, stone fruit and gentle spice, and the finish carries white chocolate, dried herbs and soft orchard fruit.
