The Chita is a single grain whisky from the Chita distillery in Japan, first released in September 2015 as the first single grain from Suntory. Master blender Shinji Fukuyo chose American white oak, Spanish oak and wine casks for its maturation. It is bottled at 43% without added colour.
The nose combines crème brûlée and acacia honey with cardamom and rose petals. The palate is mild and smooth, with a pronounced honey sweetness and a hint of mint. The finish is clean, with spicy oak that lingers and fine bittersweet notes.
