The Daisen is a blended Japanese whisky in a 70cl bottle. It is matured for a minimum of three years in American oak casks, then given an extra three-month finish in Mizunara casks, which are known for adding floral notes along with sandalwood and cocoa.
The nose is complex and aromatic, with clear sandalwood from the Mizunara and hints of coconut and vanilla. The palate is soft and nuanced, with vanilla, gentle caramel and a touch of spice. The finish is medium to long, with Mizunara spiciness lingering.
