This is The Dalmore 18 Year Old, the 2023 annual edition, a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
The whisky matures first in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, which give a base of soft vanilla and honey. It then spends a longer finishing period in hand-selected 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks from the González Byass bodega in Spain.
The aroma brings vanilla, dark chocolate, English marmalade and sweet liquorice. On the palate there are chocolate raisins, citrus fruits, rich coffee, nutmeg and spice, and the finish carries stewed fruits and toffee.
