This is a 28 year old Highland single malt from Dalmore, selected by Whyte & Mackay for its Stillman's Dram series and bottled at 45% around 2000. It is a limited edition.
The whisky matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then was finished in Graham's Tawny Port pipes.
The nose leads with orange marmalade, with breakfast cereal, marshmallow, saddle leather, oats and a faint briny freshness. The palate is lively, mixing citrus, spice and port sweetness. The finish is well balanced, with fruit, oak and a touch of salted caramel.
