The Dalmore Luminary No 2 is the second release in the Luminary series, a 16 year old Highland single malt at 48.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn is 20,000 bottles worldwide.
It was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Graham's Tawny port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks. A touch of peated Dalmore is included in the blend.
The nose offers Manuka honey, crème brûlée, old leather, pomegranate, guava and cherry blossom. On the palate come ripe figs, Seville oranges, red berries, passion fruit, lightly roasted Colombian coffee and brioche. The finish brings roasted chestnuts, cacao, mango and a hint of smoke.
