This is an English whisky released to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, 8 May 1945, when Germany's surrender ended the war in Europe. It was distilled in Norfolk at England's oldest registered whisky distillery and matured in a blend of ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks. Only 3,000 bottles were made, at 46%, non-chill filtered and with natural colour.
The nose offers sweet toffee and ripe banana, with burnt sugar, tropical fruit, vanilla sponge and a touch of pepper. On the palate come sticky toffee, crisp apples and pears, milk chocolate, brown sugar and gentle ginger, then a fresh, oaky finish.
