This is a 28 year old Highland single malt from Glenturret, bottled in 2014 at 46.4% ABV. The Famous Grouse released it to commemorate the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and 1,800 bottles were filled.
The whisky comes from casks filled in 1986, the last time Scotland had hosted the Games before then.
The nose offers orchard apple alongside mango, passion fruit, ripe melon and wild honey, with a little dried fruit and gentle oak warmth. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with more tropical fruit, honey and soft malt. The finish runs medium to long, with tropical fruit and cider apples.
