The Gauldrons Cask Strength 2023 (Remarkable Regional Malts) (70cl, 52.8%)

The Gauldrons is a Campbeltown blended malt from Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts range, here in its 2023 cask strength release in a 70cl bottle. It marries aged single cask single malts from Springbank and Glen Scotia, and takes its name from a remote spot on Scotland's far west coast that means "Bay of Storms". It is bottled at 52.8% ABV without colouring or chill-filtration, in a limited edition of no more than 3,000 bottles. In the glass it is described as classic Campbeltown: a sea breeze character with dried oak, barley and gentle bonfire smoke, followed by mouth-coating, sweet manuka honey.
