The Gauldrons Eclipse is a limited edition Campbeltown blended malt from Douglas Laing, a marriage of single cask single malts from Springbank and Glen Scotia. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.9% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration.
It has been finished in orange wine casks from Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain, a first for this Campbeltown blend.
The nose is described as malt, dried apricots, orange peel and toasted almonds. On the palate come walnuts, honey, ginger and stone fruits, and the finish is long, with spice and tangy orange.
