The Glendronach 40 Year Old is a Highland single malt aged for forty years and bottled at 43.9%, in a 70cl bottle. It is the most mature expression in the distillery's core collection.
The whisky comes from a selection of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez, matured in traditional dunnage warehouses. Master Blender Rachel Barrie hand-selected the casks.
The nose offers black cherry, stewed plum, blackberry, sherry-soaked chocolate gateau and café elixir. On the palate are blackcurrant compote, raisin wine, cinnamon chocolate and espresso, leading to a long, velvety finish of sherried richness and structured spice.
