The Glenlivet – 12 Year Old Double Oak (70cl, 40%)

This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from The Glenlivet, matured in both European and American oak casks and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is matured mainly in ex-American oak, which brings vanilla notes and a smooth character. Water from Josie's Well is used for mashing and fermentation, and the height and width of the copper stills add a delicate but complex character. It is a bright, vibrant gold. The nose is fruity and summery, and the palate is well balanced and fruity with strong pineapple. The finish is creamy and smooth, with marzipan and fresh hazelnuts.
