The Glenlivet The Sample Room is a 21 year old single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is fully finished in three kinds of cask: first-fill Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak Cognac and Colheita port.
The finishing adds depth, sweetness and spice to The Glenlivet's smooth, fruity style.
Tasting notes describe caramelised pears and juicy sultanas on the nose, with nutmeg and cinnamon from the Cognac cask. The palate is complex, fruity and spicy, with dried apricots and chocolate-coated ginger. The finish is long and rich with warming spices.
