This is a 21 year old single malt from The Glenlivet, part of The Sample Room Collection. It has been fully finished in three types of cask: first-fill Oloroso sherry, Tronçais Oak Cognac and Colheita port.
The combination adds depth, sweetness and a spicy edge to the distillery's smooth, fruity style, with the Cognac cask responsible for the nutmeg and cinnamon notes.
On the nose it is typically described as caramelised pears and juicy sultanas with nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is complex, fruity and spicy, with dried apricots and chocolate-coated ginger, and the finish is long and rich with warming spices.
