A 1972 distillation from The Glenturret, a single malt in a 37.5cl bottle at 43% ABV.
The nose is led by ripe, juicy fruit: yellow pears, muscat grape, green melon and honeysuckle, over an old, oily candle wax character that is clean rather than soapy. The palate is full-bodied despite the strength, balancing malty sweetness with oak spice, and bringing vanilla, heather honey, a little citrus and an oily texture.
The finish runs medium to long, warm and round, with candied fruit, sweet wood and a light spiciness.
