The Legendary Silkie Brouwersnös is a limited edition blended Irish whiskey, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. Sliabh Liag Distillers married five malt and grain whiskeys, including a small share of peated malt, then finished the blend for nine months in two casks from the Dutch brewery Brouwersnös. Both had previously held a Belgian-style dubbel. They gave 806 bottles, and the whiskey is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers pear, banana, raisin and plum with malt and honey, and a faint thread of smoke. The palate is full and velvety, with dried fruit, fig, ginger, toffee, dark chocolate and a little orange peel bitterness. The finish is long and warming, with earthy spice and soft, dry smoke.
