New Forms Moscatel is a single cask English single malt from The London Distillery Company, finished for 8 months in a first-fill moscatel sherry hogshead and bottled at 61.6% ABV. It is limited to 345 bottles.
The moscatel finish adds caramelised orange, poached stone fruit and orange blossom, with nutty oak alongside. The casks were filled at the original London Distillery Company, which began distilling in 2011.
The nose is caramelised orange peel, tart lemon and brown-butter poached peaches. The palate is rich and oily, with citrus, nectarine, burnt toffee and ginger, and the finish is nutty toasted oak with bitter citrus peel and warm spice.
