The Macallan – Sherry Oak 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It belongs to the Sherry Oak range, whose whiskies are matured exclusively in oak casks that previously held sherry from Jerez. This one spends its full twelve years in oak casks that held Oloroso sherry from Jerez in Spain. The casks are refilled with the new spirit and the whisky is left to mature in them undisturbed. It is described as having intense notes of dried fruit and spice from the wood, and a natural dark gold colour.
