This is The Nikka 12 Years Old, a premium blended Japanese whisky from Nikka, bottled by The Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
The nose is led by fruity sweetness, with green apple, toffee, poached pear, melon and fresh citrus, over malt, vanilla, butter, nutmeg and a little smoke and leather.
The palate is buttery and silky with plenty of body, pairing honey, cinnamon, sponge cake and ripe fruit with a bittersweet side of cocoa, dark chocolate and peppery spice. The finish is long, clean and slightly dry, with gentle spice, earthy peat smoke, oak and bitter chocolate.
