The Senator Barrel Proof is a rye whiskey from Proof & Wood Ventures, released as part of its DC Collection. It is aged for a minimum of 6 years in new charred oak barrels.
Between 10 and 20 selected barrels are combined, and the whiskey is bottled at barrel proof. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
The palate is nutty, with toffee, orange peel, herbs and light tobacco. With a little water, chocolate brownies and blackberry emerge.
