The Singleton of Dufftown 15 Year Old Fruity Decadence (70cl, 40%)

Fruity Decadence is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from The Singleton of Dufftown, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It marries whisky from refill ex-bourbon casks, which bring vanilla, with whisky from Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, which add to the fruitiness. Coriander, pepper, chocolate and creamy coffee notes sit alongside the fruit, and the character turns drier on the palate and in the finish. The nose is lightly spicy and dry, with toffee apples, honeycomb, linseed oil and fragrant tea, then ripe autumn fruit and tart red berries. The palate starts sweet and dries, with malt, oats and fruit salad. The finish recalls pears and digestive biscuits, ending with gentle spice and aniseed.
