The Singleton of Dufftown Tailfire is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown Distillery, first introduced in 2014 and carrying no age statement. It is sold in a 75cl bottle at 40% ABV.
The whisky is matured with a higher share of European oak, including toasted ex-sherry casks, alongside charred American oak, a mix chosen to bring out Dufftown's fruity character.
On the nose there are strawberries, stewed plums and raspberry jam, with vanilla and toasted oak. The palate opens with malt and fresh grass before rich berry fruit and gentle spice, and the finish is sweet and creamy, with drying oak and a hint of coconut.
