The Speysiders Batch 2 is a ten-year-old blended malt made from four Speyside single malts distilled in 2009. Linkwood and Glenlossie provide whisky from first-fill bourbon casks, Craigellachie a sherry hogshead component and Miltonduff a portion matured in red wine casks.
Murray McDavid vatted the blend for its The Vatting series, finished it in sherry butts and bottled it in 2019 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. A total of 1,553 bottles were filled, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose is biscuit and oats with a touch of apple, honey and rum-soaked raisins. The palate has raw sugar and white pepper, then peach, apricot and raisin. The finish is spicy, with the sweetness lingering.
