This is a 28 year old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, selected jointly by East Village Whisky Company and The Whisky Agency. It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2023 at 51.1% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
It matured in a sherry butt, and 184 bottles were filled.
The nose is meaty with sherry, with faint barbecue notes, plums, figs, dates, morello cherries and a little peach and pineapple. The palate is sweet and complex, with sherried meatiness, ripe dark fruit and spice. The finish is long, with leather, a grappa-like character and subtle wood.
